When do you ask permission and when do you ask forgiveness? So much of professional judgment is knowing the difference between the two. It applies to marketing, too; you need to know your customers well enough to understand what they have (and haven't) given your brand permission to do. What have they shown that they want to hear from you? When have you overstepped your authority and started talking about something that makes no sense for your brand? These days, asking forgiveness is more complicated than ever (cancel culture), but being brave is more necessary than ever. What does this have to do with our collection of stories this week on graphic design and photography? Everything. Because to market well, you need to understand not just tactics and logistics, but the meaning behind what you do. Why are you talking to your customers in the way that you are? When you can answer that, we're here to help you make it effective.

Happy creating!
